The Art of Korean food is a website dedicated to people who like delicious food and are interested in cooking it. It focuses on the culture and recipes of Korean cuisine.
Hello! My name is Esther, a self-proclaimed foodie and Korean food enthusiast. I am a third year student at the University of California, San Diego studying human biology, but in my free time, I enjoy cooking! To give a little bit of background of myself, I am a second generation Korean-American brought up in a typical Korean family so I grew up eating Korean food almost every day. I started cooking Korean food ever since I was old enough to help my mom around in the kitchen. I was her sous-chef. I helped her prepare ingredients, and stirred them while they cooked. I took great pride in the fact that I was able to take a part in cooking dinner that night!
Currently, I am living off campus in the “real world,” as I like to call it, and because I am nowhere near dining halls where fully prepared food is just a swipe away, I am now independent and must cook for myself at my apartment. This gives me the opportunity to cook the food I love most: Korean!
Using the skills that I learned from my mom, I have started to independently cook the traditional Korean foods that I’ve grown to love. Here on my website, I would like to share my experience with Korean food with you.
Explore with me the culture behind Korean food, and learn some easy recipes that you could try at home!
I hope you will be able to enjoy Korean food just as much as I do.
Peace and love,
Esther
