Ddeokbokki is a spicy Korean dish popular among young crowds, including me! Ddeokbokki is so so simple to make, yet so flavorful. It's no wonder that many Koreans call Ddeokbokki their favorite food! 

Most widely known as one of the go to street foods in Korea, ddeokbokki is a perfect snack for any time of the day. It's sweet, spicy, and chewy all at the same time. 
Try my version of ddeokbokki!

This recipe yields 2 delicious servings. 

Ingredients you'll need: 
  • about 2 full cups of water
  • 2 cups of rice cake
  • 2 sheets of fish cake 
  • half a small cabbage
  • 1 small onion
  • half a carrot
  • 3 tbsp of gochujang (red pepper paste), more can be added!
  • 2 tbsp of gochugaru (red pepper flakes)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of soy sauce for seasoning
  • green onion to garnish if desired
